Even though I've left Apple, I'm still getting reports in from friends who have gotten their first Mac. They tell me elatedly how excited they are about their switch. From where I'm sitting, Microsoft has long lost the mindshare game—something which John Gruber recently pointed out is the much more important factor.
It begs the question: how many people still really care about Windows at all?
