RIM Acquires Torch Mobile

Torch makes a WebKit-based mobile browser. If the BlackBerry platform switches to WebKit across the board for its future products—a wise move, I would say—it means that WebKit will soon be the de facto standard for mobile browsing. This may (and hopefully will) lead to more web designers and developers taking advantage of HTML5 and CSS3 features that WebKit already supports, such as Animations, Transitions and 3D Transforms.
